FC Grosseto Business Trip

Yesterday, September 4th, JCU Gladiators and members of the JCU Business Club went to visit FC Grosseto Club, which is competing in the Italian Serie D. The Italian-American club bought the team last year after a harsh crisis that would have let the Grosseto team fail. The investors created a strong team very quickly, ranking in the second place at the end of the first season. Their main goal is to make the FC Grosseto team reach the Italian Serie B within 5 years.

JCU students had the great chance to meet the managers and, most importantly, to talk to Ms. Janet Strackhouse, who is one of the owners of FC Grosseto. Specifically, she explained the mission of the club, its structure, its budget and revenues, as well as the countless obstacles they have been facing to do business in the soccer market.

Grosseto Day Trip – learn the back office operations of a soccer club!

Dear all,
the Athletics Department and the Business Club, in collaboration with the JCU cabinet and the Grosseto Football Club, is organizing a day trip to Grosseto on Sunday, September 4th.

The aim of the trip is to learn the back office operations of an Italian-American soccer club and to create a connection within our students and the club.

We will have the chance to meet the staff members and players during an early lunch, then we will visit their offices and watch their first game of the season. After the game we will participate in the press conference and we will learn about the organizational process of a game day.
We highly recommend this trip to all the business BA students and to student-athletes involved in our sports teams.

Varsity Sports Teams info… Come and tryout!

John Cabot University offers its students the chance to practice sports and represent with pride their university.
Every student can choose between men and women’s soccer, men’s futsal, coed volleyball, coed basketball and cheerleading. Most of our teams take part in the Roman University tournament and play against other universities. Each of them has been growing annually and our students and coaches feel part of this change.
