Last year, the JCU Gladiators Cheerleading team made history by competing for the very first time in a major event—the World InterUniversities Championship in Rome—going head-to-head with top-level cheerleading teams from around the globe. Far from just a sideline presence, our cheerleaders are athletes in their own right, bringing skill, energy, and charisma to every performance. With each semester, they grow stronger, shine brighter, and spread the Gladiator spirit not only to our teams but across the entire campus. This Fall 2025, they’re set to take the stage again at the WIUC in Barcelona—best of luck, and make us proud, Gladiators!

Cheerleading Team’s Tryouts – Fall 2023

JCU Cheerleading Team was created in 2015 led by Coach Elena Gregori.

Our Cheerleading Team has been supporting the players of all the other teams during their most important matches of the seasons; also, JCU Cheerleaders perform during important events such as the Gladiators’ Night, the kick-off event, the Pep Rally, and the Student Life Award Ceremony.

We are proud of our Cheerleading Team as JCU is the first and only university in Rome to claim such a team.
