The John Cabot University Gladiators have done it again! The men’s basketball and 5vs5 soccer teams have won the final games of the University of Rome Championships – Europa League, adding more trophies to the already full JCU trophy cabinet.

Last week was a very intense one for our Gladiators. Our Men’s Soccer team was engaged in the final phase of the championship, quarter-finals in a single match against Erasmus. Play-offs reached with great merit and determination, following a historic comeback by our boys who with 5 consecutive victories had brought themselves to fourth position, only behind the prestigious Foro Italico, Luiss and Link.
100 Gladiators!
Over a hundred Gladiators participated in the second Pep Rally of this academic year, and what a night it was! Athletics and Student Services departments organized the now-traditional Gladiators Night in honor of the upcoming matches against Rome Tre and the Università Cattolica.

Despite the break, our Gladiators never stopped! Some trained in our gym, while others spent a beautiful weekend in the snow in the Alps. Some competed in a half-marathon, and others challenged themselves to the long hiking Cammino di Santiago.

It has been an eventful week for the Gladiators, with four out of six teams participating in matches. The week started on a rough note for the men’s 5vs5 soccer team under coach Franceschi, who played a tough game but couldn’t overcome the Cattolica University, the actual leader of the ranking. However, Wednesday was the day that will go down in history for the fantastic result that the men’s soccer team, under coach Marian, achieved in an away game against Sapienza. They won by a stunning 7-1, the biggest victory in the 16-year history of the Gladiators.
