What a great ending to the Universities of Rome Championship for our Men’s Soccer team who conquered a well-deserved 3rd place in the final ranking last night; an achievement that proves how it is possible to do great things with determination and hard work.
At the same time, our Women’s Soccer team smoothly won the second-round semifinals, flying straight to Finals on Thursday, April 26th.

MEN’S SOCCER:
Although, our Gladiators couldn’t conquer the Finals by a nose last week, they were able to make it up during this triangular games, which saw JCU against Erasmus in Campus (EIC) and Foro Italico University (UFI). The games were quite tough, but JCU players never lost their focus and played with great attitude and excellent athletic skills during both games. JCU won both matches, the first 1-0 and the second 2-0, thanks to the Captain Riccardo Vallese‘s, Marco Fortuna‘s and Jose Ortega‘s goals. These results allowed JCU to win the triangular match, catching the 3rd place in the final ranking of the championship.
This third place is the perfect reward to your commitment and to the great job that the coaches Riccardo Concari and Ion Marian have been able to carry out with you all during the semester.

Congratulations to each one of you, players and coaches alike! Last night, you tested on your own skin that with team spirit, perseverance, and hard work, you can achieve anything you want. May this be not only the conclusion of a good championship but the beginning for an even top-quality season next year. In 2018, we bring home a bronze medal, but next year, we aim at gold! And we start again from this exact point!

WOMEN’S FUTSAL:
An easy game for our Lady Gladiators in action in the second round of the semifinals against Progetto Fiumicino 1926. After winning the first round, JCU replicated the result by completely crushing the opposing team, ending the match with a 11-0 win.
The opponents were never a problem for our ladies, and JCU goalkeeper, Maria Vittoria Albezzano, had to worry only once during the entire game.

Congratulations, ladies! You are a true example of cohesiveness, commitment, and hard work!

But now it’s time to play seriously and be focused on the Finals, which will happen on Thursday, April 26th at 10:00 PM at Palatorrino where our Lady Gladiators will have to face a very competitive team such as the University of Foro Italico. C’mon ladies, let’s go win the championship and hold the trophy high!

A special thank you goes to our amazing cheerleaders Caroline Liquit and Ayhun Rha who, together with our mascot Maximus, delighted us with a pleasant performance before the game.
