JCU Coed Volleyball Takes Down Bitossi and Advances to Semifinals

After the two amazing victories conquered by our Men’s Soccer and Women’s Futsal teams, it was the turn for our Coed Volleyball team to gift us with another excellent performance.
Last night, JCU Coed Volleyball team accomplished a great deed in the Oroverde Tournament, winning 3-0 against Bitossi and earning the pass to the Semifinals.

In the previous match, Bitossi was able to defeat JCU, but yesterday, our Gladiators came back really focused and well-prepared, and the result proved it perfectly. JCU didn’t back down for one single minute and fought hard with all the energy since the beginning of the match.

“We played a great game tonight!” coach Stefano Papari commented at the end of the game. “We won the first two sets easily and without any particular difficulty. We struggled a little bit more in the third set, but, at the end, we were able to take the lead and won. Our Gladiators were unstoppable!”

For this game, the Most Valuable Player recognition goes to Flaminia Giacomi because she was fundamental in the game and really helped the entire the team in every way she could, by also playing in a different position from hers due to a little injury to her finger. Congratulations, Flaminia!

And congratulations to all of the players! You are a wonderful team!
These two wins tells us that you are in a really good shape and have worked hard so far. Now we can’t wait to see you in action in the next match in the Universities of Rome Championship against Foro Italico on Monday, April 16th. But most of all, we want you to see carry high that first-place trophy on Finals Day on Thursday, April 19th.

Keep pushing, Gladiators!
