JCU Pulls Out Tough Win Over Pamphili Ballers

An intense friendly game saw our JCU Basketball team gain the upper hand, last night, over a very competitive team, the Pamphili Ballers, winning 58-59.

Overall, both teams were quite balanced. JCU attack started well in the first quarter, playing tactically good and setting up the pace for a dynamic game. Despite the continuity of the attack went a little bit loose in the last two quarters, JCU was able to maintain the lead thanks to an acellent play of the defense, which was really efficient for almost the entire game. It only gave in a little bit in the third quarter, leaving space to the opponents for some good scores.

Getting ready before the game

“I am happy about all of my players because they played with great determination until the end of the game. Even though we still don’t have a lot of practice since we started only one month ago, I see a lot of potential in this team,” Francesco Serraino, JCU Basketball coach says.Β “Of course, there is still a lot of work to do if we want to improve and be ready to face even tougher opponents in mid-November when we will participate to an International Tournament in Barcelona.”

Congrats to all of our Gladiators, and, in particular, we want to acknowledge the great performance of Luke Morrisroe for being the top scorer of the game, Patrick Gilmore, Matthew Kim, Gabriele Ciulli for their excellent technical game moves, and Justin Wong for his versatility by playing well in different positions.
