JCU Brings Down ANS at Homegame, 102-51

What an incredible game for our Men’s Basketball team last night who continuously keeps winning in the UISP tournament one game after the other.

Yesterday, JCU broke the barrier of the 100-point, by defeating ANS, 102-51.

Morrisroe #6 – Top scorer with a game-high of 43 points

JCU started the game off strong with shooting guard Michel Kreitem scoring 8 points straight in the opening frame. Indeed, our Gladiators immediately took advantage of all the opportunities, carrying out an outstanding offensive output.

JCU also played really well in defence in the first quarter with Audley, Duong, and Kreitem protecting well their home turf. ANS was, indeed, limited by JCU strong defensive effort and found a hard time to go beyond our Gladiators zone-defence strategy.

The first quarter ended with a 20-point score difference in favor of JCU who won 33-13.

Second quarter of the game took on a similar path as the previous one with JCU adding up points to the scoreboard. JCU was able to maintain a substantial score difference, closing 58-27 the second 15 minutes of the game.

Kreitem #13 – MVP of the game

In the third quarter, JCU entered the field more relaxed and took the game a little easier, confident of their solid advantage. ANS attempted to make up for some points, but it wasn’t enough to catch up with our Gladiators. The third quarter ended 75-40 for JCU.

In the fourth quarter, JCU shooting guard Luke Morrisroe re-entered the game and dominated it from the start by scoring a high number of points, performing a total of 43 points during the game. Great job, Luke!

“The opponents were on quite lower level compared to us,” coach Serraino commented. “But I saw really good things on the field tonight. Our team played really well. Every one did a great performance!”

Congratulations, Gladiators! We are proud of each one of you!
