JCU Men’s Soccer Falls to UER, 2-0

Second important game in the Universities of Rome Championship for our Men’s Soccer team who came down to action against a valid opponent, Università Europea di Roma (UER).

Overall, our Gladiators gave a better perfomance compared to last-week game against ESN, but that wasn’t enough to defeat UER, currently third in the ranking, who won 2-0 over JCU.

Both teams controlled and played a balanced game for the first 45 minutes until the the last 30 seconds when UER was able to score on a free kick, taking the lead, 1-0.

“We were supposed to score back on this temporary result. We had a few chances to even the score, but, unfortuntaely we wasted them,” coach Concari commented.

In the second half, JCU committed a few more mistakes that UER took advantage of and that allowed them to score again 15 minutes before the final whistle, winning the match, 2-0.

“We played against a very skilled team. They have 2/3 components who are extremely talented,” mister Concari added. “But we did a good job because the team was more organized in the field, and they showed more focus and determination compared to last week.”

Keep it up, Gladiators! We want you to bring home a win next time, so work hard!
