The JCU community has started off on a strong foot this semester with our first two Team JCU events!
In the first of these, held the morning of September 24th, we came together with current students, staff, and faculty to support each other in a community run and walk along the Tiber River. After about forty minutes enjoying our exercise amidst the many weekend warriors of Rome, Team JCU reconvened for a relaxing breakfast at Bar Meccanismo, offered by the university.
Just one week later, on October 1st, Team JCU convened once more to participate in the Roma Cardio Race, organized in support of cardiovascular health. Together, the Team JCU participants shared a complimentary breakfast together before traveling out to the racecourse at Ippodromo Capannelle for a 5K race on the famous horse track. For some of our participants, this was the first race ever completed! After this impressive feat, the team came together and took advantage of the free heart scans offered at the race festival before returning to Trastevere for the afternoon.
We offer a big congratulations to those who have been supporting Team JCU from the beginning as well as those who have yet to join us. Team JCU events are organized as an opportunity for all JCU community members to socialize while staying active, whether that means running or walking. Current students, staff, faculty, alumni, and family members are all invited to Team JCU events.
Don’t miss out on our next Community Fun Runs, taking place on October 29th and November 12th! Multiple ability groups and a complementary breakfast are provided for all who come.
Stay healthy. Run together. Support your community.
