My name is Michele, I’m 26 years old, originally from Naples but living in Rome for the past seven years, ever since I moved here for university.

My favorite sport is soccer, although my athletic story is a bit more complex! As a teenager, I played competitive basketball for Partenope Basket in Naples, taking part in the regional FIP championships, until I had to step away from the sport to focus on my studies. From then on, I channeled my energy into futsal, competing in my high school tournaments as well as the much-anticipated neighborhood competitions—winning a few of them and even bringing home several awards (but I promise I never let it go to my head!).

Today, as a proud Napoli fan (Serie A champions!) and an NBA enthusiast, I still live and breathe sports every day—even if now I’m wearing a lab coat: I’m a doctor, but I’ve decided to embrace this new adventure at JCU Athletics with great enthusiasm, serving as Assistant Coordinator for the Varsity teams, especially for 11-a-side soccer and futsal. After three years as Sports Coordinator at UniCamillus University, it’s an honor for me to bring my experience to such an international and welcoming environment as JCU—a team I’ve always admired from the other side of the court, and now have the pleasure to be part of from within.

My goals? To learn, have fun, and contribute with passion!

The strangest thing that’s ever happened to me as an athlete? Once, an opponent sent me a Facebook friend request… while marking me man-to-man!
