Men’s Basketball: ARB Pulls Away Late in 47-53 Win over JCU

It was not our JCU Men’s Basketball team best performance last night in the UISP tournament. With only five numbered players present at the game, our Gladiators suffered more towards the end and allowed All Reds Basket (ARB) to take the win in the last quarter, 47-53.

Overall, none of the two teams scored much in the game. In the first quarter, JCU started well and immediately took the lead, 14-10. In the second quarter, ARB tried to shorten the distance, but JCU was able to maintain the advantage. The second quarter ended 25-23.

The opponents exploited well our Gladiators’ tiredness and were able to tie the result in the third quarter, which ended 35-35. In the last quarter, JCU was clearly dropping the focus and the necessary energy to end the game with a win. JCU held tight and fought until the end, but ARB ultimately oveturned the result, winning 47-53.

“We should have used the advantage at the beginning of the third quarter to build a better offensive strategy. We started well in the first two quarters, but tiredness took over towards the end of the game, and we performed less sharp plays,” coach Serraino pointed out.

It happens, Gladiators! So restore your energy now because we can get our payback next week!
