JCU Men’s Basketball Earns a 74-61 Victory over RIM

Another victory for JCU Men’s Basketball team in the UISP tournament against RIM Cerveteri, which currently puts our Gladiators at the top of the ranking.

JCU starts off strong in the first quarter and immediately takes the lead, 27-11. Our Gladiators keeps playing at an intense rhythm in the second quarter, as well, keeping a good advantage over the opponents. At the end of the second quarter, the result is 39-27 for JCU.

In third quarter, JCU eases down a little and begins to commit more mistakes. RIM, on the other hand, exploits the situation on their favor and performs a come back, being very close to overturn the result. The third quarter ends 53-50 for our Gladiators.

In the last quarter, JCU gains back their competitive mindset and outstrips their opponents again, winning the game, 74-61.

“The game started with fireworks, but then RIM adapted,” coach Serraino commented. “They were running some decent 1-3-1 set and could find some good shot in the mid range and some easy drive in transition too. We need to focus on the defense on fast breaks and transition and spot when they are specifically attacking the zone. Other than this, the first and the last we played great on both ends, and we deserved this win.”

Special mention goes to Adrian Roux who contributes greatly to the victory, playing an excellent game both on offense and defense. Good job, Adrian!

Congratulation, Gladiators! You are a great team!

Warm thanks also to our amazing Cheerleading team who entertained the spectators and the players with a beautiful performance at half time during the game!
