JCU Men’s Futsal Closes Championship Season with an Overall 4th Place

The Universities of Rome Championship ended for JCU Men’s Futsal team, as well, on Monday, April 23rd. JCU played a triangular game against Foro Italico University and Polo Didattico Bambin Gesù.

This challenge saw our Gladiators winning the first match against Polo Didattico for 1-0 but losing the second match against Foro Italico for 2-3. The result places our Gladiators in the 4th position in the overall ranking for this-year Championship Season. Despite a few distractions during the games, JCU played quite well and proved to be a cohesive team. They tried their best and never gave up, fighting until the very last minute. Well done, Gladiators!

“Overall, this triangular game was well-balanced. We did everything we could, and our players had lot of fun. I saw a good dose of sportsmanship, last night, and I’m glad for that,” coach Manuel Franceschi commented at the end of the game.

Then, Manuel continued, “We finish this Season with little of regret. Honestly, this year, our team made a few mistakes that, probably, could have been avoided from the beginning. However, I could see the players’ commitment, and I can tell that there is a lot of space for major improvements in the next season.”

And we are sure about that! Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, but it is from the defeats that we learn what we have done wrong and find ways to work through it. So don’t worry, Gladiators! We’ll be waiting for you in the next season as combative and determined as ever, ready to take your spot on the podium!
