5 goals to start the Men’s Soccer season!

Yesterday, October 5th, the JCU Men’s Soccer team played a friendly game against Ladispoli All Stars at Trastevere Stadium. The game ended 5-0 for our Gladiators, who did not miss the chance to bring out their Gladiator spirit.

The first two goals were scored by JCU midfielder Noah Sandvik,  a 21-year old senior at JCU from Massachusetts who has been playing for the JCU Men’s Soccer team for two years. JCU stricker José Pablo Ortega, an 18-year-old Mexican JCU degree-seeking sophomore from Mexico City, who has been playing in the team from Spring 2016, scored the third goal in the middle of the game. In the last minutes, new JCU midfielder Tommaso Ferrucci and JCU stricker Mohamed Haddad, a 20-year-old British/Libyan JCU degree-seeking sophomore who has been playing in the team for two years, scored two incredible goals, thus affirming the great teamwork and dedication of all JCU team players for the 5th time during the game.

Coach Riccardo Concari did not hesitate to express his satisfaction. “Although they have classes and exams, all players are demonstrating their passion for soccer and their willingness to improve as much as possible. It is a great team and I hope we can achieve successful results by the end of the season.”
