As the season reaches its most defining stretch, the Gladiators are stepping into one of the most exciting and historic weeks in JCU Athletics history.
With multiple teams competing in Champions League semifinals and finals across different sports, the coming days promise intensity, pride, and the chance to bring home silverware.
This week marks a milestone moment for our men’s soccer team, who, for the first time ever, are fighting for the Champions League title. Their journey to this stage has been nothing short of remarkable, and now they stand just one step away from making history.
On the women’s side, the 5v5 soccer team is returning to tradition, battling against Link Campus University for the championship trophy. This matchup carries both legacy and determination, as the team looks to reclaim its place at the top.

Another historic breakthrough comes from our coed padel team, which has qualified for the Champions League for the very first time. Reaching this stage is already an extraordinary achievement, but the Gladiators are not stopping there – they have their eyes firmly set on the trophy.
Equally impressive is the performance of our coed tennis team, which is not only competing in the Champions League but is also in contention for the ultimate prize. Their run has redefined expectations and added yet another chapter to this unforgettable season.

Meanwhile, our coed volleyball team, after an outstanding performance at the 2nd playoff match, winning 3-0 against Sapienza, heads into the finals of Europa league ready to fight for victory, building on a season of hard work and consistency. Our women’s basketball team will also take the court with determination, competing for a 3rd-place finish against strong opponents and aiming to close their campaign on a high note.

This week is not only about competition – it is also about legacy. For many of our student-athletes, these semifinal and final matches represent the final chapter of their incredible journey at John Cabot University as they prepare to graduate. Years of commitment, sacrifice, and passion come down to these moments. Let’s embrace this opportunity to shine brighter than ever.
As we look ahead to this decisive week, we couldn’t be prouder of all our teams. From the athletes on the field and court to the men’s basketball and the cheerleading teams and every program representing JCU, this semester has showcased what it truly means to be a Gladiator: resilience, discipline, and unwavering commitment.
Balancing the demands of university life while competing at such a high level is no small feat. Every practice, every game, and every tournament – whether here in Rome or abroad – reflects the dedication and passion our student-athletes bring to representing John Cabot University. Their strength is unstoppable, and it will not stop now.
So as we head into this final stretch, remember: do what you do – because you’ve done it before. Trust your work, trust your team, and rise to the moment.
Let’s continue to support them as they push forward. The finish line is in sight – and so are the trophies. Let’s bring them home and make the entire JCU community proud.
PS: Next week, the women’s volleyball, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball teams will travel to Ikast, Denmark (April 9–13) to represent JCU at the international camp hosted by Sport Star College of Ikast. We can’t wait to see them proudly carry the Gladiators spirit abroad!

Always, GO GLADIATORS.
