Sapri Weekend Trip 2017

This weekend, our JCU Athletics team took students on the Sapri Weekend Hiking Trip where we got to swim through caves, experience the beauty of the “Venus Hair Waterfall”, went kayaking down the relaxing Bussento river, and visited the “Canale di Mezzanotte” or the Midnight Canal by boat!

On the first day, the Sapri crew arrived in the coastal town and took a boat out into the sea to snorkel beneath the “Midnight Canal” and experienced “Gelato 101”, learning how to make gelato with the infamous Enzo Crivella!

Day two of the trip, we traveled to the WWF Oasis to visit the Bussento caves and experienced the beauty of the “Venus Hair Waterfall”.  After, we drove a short distance to the Bussento river to kayak, eating at a delicious local fish restaurant that night.

On our final day, we traveled to S. Giorgio to start our excursion on the pathway of “Apprezzami l’Asino” where we experienced one of the most breathtaking views of the entire trip!

Overall, it was a fantastic trip with some of the best group of students we’ve had thus far!

Special thanks to Elena and Gerardo – our incredibly welcoming, accommodating, and amazing B&B hosts (of B&B Spigolatrice)
