As the Spring semester unfolds, John Cabot University‘s Gladiators are actively competing in the Europa University League.
All of our varsity teams are part of this prestigious competition, demonstrating exceptional dedication and sportsmanship as they enter the playoff phase of the University of Rome Championships. Here’s an overview of their activities and achievements:


Men’s Soccer: The Gladiators’ Men’s Soccer team has been competing fiercely in the Europa University League, showcasing their skills and teamwork on the field as they advance through the playoffs.
Women’s 5v5 Soccer: Our Lady Gladiators have participated in several matches this month, demonstrating agility and coordination in the fast-paced futsal format. They also fought hard in the playoff phase, with an incredible display of determination and teamwork.
Men’s Basketball: The Men’s Basketball team has been active throughout March, engaging in challenging games that highlight their strategic play and endurance as they navigate the playoffs.
Coed Volleyball: The Coed Volleyball team has shown remarkable synergy during their matches, reflecting the diverse and collaborative spirit of JCU’s student body as they compete in the playoff rounds.


Coed Tennis: Our Coed Tennis players have participated in matches that emphasize precision and stamina, contributing to the Gladiators’ reputation for excellence in the Europa University League playoffs.
Coed Padel: Introducing a new dynamic to our sports lineup, the Coed Padel team has embraced this fast-growing sport with enthusiasm, participating in their inaugural playoff matches this season.

Cheerleading: The Cheerleading team has been a vibrant presence at various events, uplifting both players and spectators with their spirited performances. A special highlight was their electrifying performance at the Women’s Soccer playoff last Monday, where they energized the crowd and inspired the team with their dynamic routines.
Gladiators Reach Europa Finals: This season has been a historic one for JCU, as we have already reached five Europa University League finals! Our Tennis, Padel, Women’s 5v5 Soccer, and Men’s Basketball teams have all secured their spots in their respective Europa Leagues final matches, a testament to their dedication and skill.
Meanwhile, we are eagerly awaiting the results of Women’s Basketball and Men’s Soccer, as the latter is still fighting for a place in the Europa semifinals. The excitement is high as we look forward to more thrilling performances from our Gladiators!
Looking Ahead: International Sports Festival in Athens
As March transitions into April, anticipation builds for the upcoming International Sports Festival at the American College of Greece in Athens, scheduled from April 1-5, 2025. A delegation of our teams, including Men’s Soccer, Women’s 5v5 Soccer, Women’s Basketball, and Tennis, is set to represent JCU on this international stage. This event offers a platform for our athletes to compete against peers from around the world, fostering cross-cultural exchanges and showcasing their talents.
