In 2024, a delegation flew to Athens for the ACG International Sports Festival, and in Rome the entire team earned a 2nd place in the Champions league of the Universities of Rome Championship.
JCU Basketball Team was officially created in 2013 but started competing in the Universities of Rome Championship only in 2015/2016 in a 3-vs-3 tournament both for men and women.
JCU Menâs Basketball Team won the Championship Title for that year, while Womenâs Basketball Team ranked in second place.
In 2017/2018 JCU Menâs Basketball Team earned, instead, a second place against the University of Foro Italico.
JCU Basketball team 2018-2019
In 2018/2019 our Menâs Basketball Team closed the season in 3rd place after a though last day of games that saw Foro Italico winning the 1st place and American University of Rome the 2nd place.
In 2023, our team managed to gain a challenging 2nd place in the Europa League of the Championship.
In addition to the Universities of Rome Championship, the team also began to compete in an external tournament in 2018, the UISP Tournament. In this way, our Gladiators have the chance to play in an official 5-vs-5 tournament, as well.
