Chandler Reese is a 21-year old JCU study abroad junior from Farmington, Michigan in the U.S. majoring in film and video/bachelor of science degree. This is Reese’s first semester playing basketball for JCU and he currently plays as a small forward/power forward. He first began playing basketball when he was 7 years old in first grade! He played at the local YMCA and has continued to play ever since..
Reese says that he wanted to learn how to play because he remembers playing a computer game called “NBA Live 2000” and would play as some of the legendary players from the NBA – like Tim Duncan, Larry Bird or Julius Erving. Reese has received multiple awards while playing throughout his life, including a “Sportsmanship” award and “Most Improved Player” award from his high school, and the tournament “MVP” from the Motor City Roundball Classic in 2014. After graduating from university, Reese would like to become a filmmaker, writing screenplays and directing/producing films. His favorite sports team is the Detroit Pistons. A random fun fact about Reese is that he can name all of the presidents of the U.S. in order, and he’s also a big fan of hip hop music! 🙂
