Gladiators Take Over Sapri for an Unforgettable Varsity Retreat

From October 3 to 5, our John Cabot University Gladiators headed south to the stunning coastal town of Sapri for a weekend of training, team bonding, and unforgettable memories.

Hosted by the wonderful Resort Petrasia, which made us feel right at home, the retreat brought together all eight varsity teamsWomen’s and Men’s Basketball, Women’s and Men’s Soccer, Cheerleading, Coed Volleyball, Tennis, and Padel — along with over 100 student-athletes, coaches, and the entire Athletics staff.

For three days, our Gladiators took over the city of Sapri, which once again welcomed us with open arms and the warm hospitality that makes this destination so special. The weekend combined intense practice sessions with moments of team bonding, allowing our athletes to reconnect and recharge ahead of the upcoming season.

We would like to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who made this retreat possible — from the Municipality of Sapri, to the Principal and students of IIS Leonardo da Vinci, Professor Gerardo Ferrara, and the incredible staff of Circolo Nautico Sapri. Their commitment, energy, and care ensured that our student-athletes could train and relax in the best possible environment.

A special thank you also goes to Circolo Nautico Sapri for organizing fun watersports activities and hosting an amazing dinner and event on Saturday night, where our Gladiators celebrated together in true team spirit.

Beyond the practices, this retreat was a chance for our athletes to build connections, strengthen friendships, and grow together as a community. The weekend perfectly embodied what it means to be a Gladiator — strong, respectful, and united.

Now back in Rome, our teams are more motivated than ever and ready to kick off the new season with passion and determination.

Thank you, Sapri — see you soon! 💙
