A Record-Breaking Start to the Gladiators Season

The past 2 weeks of Gladiators tryouts have been nothing short of incredible. From the first whistle to the last drill, we witnessed an unprecedented turnout.

A record number of students signed up to test their skills, challenge themselves, and aspire to represent John Cabot University on our intercollegiate varsity teams.

It has been an absolute honor and pleasure to see so many Gladiators stepping up with passion, energy, and commitment. Your dedication inspires us all and makes our community stronger.

Of course, with so much talent on display, our coaches face a very difficult task in finalizing rosters. The official list of selected players will be announced soon, but we want to pause here to share our gratitude.

To every single student who showed up for tryouts: thank you, and congratulations. Whether you make the team or not, putting yourself to the test and showing your Gladiator spirit is already a tremendous achievement.

What’s Next

The season is just beginning, and there’s so much to look forward to:

  • Official Team Announcements → Stay tuned for the rosters of the 2025 varsity Gladiators.
  • Gladiators’ Week → Our biggest celebration of the year kicks off on September 30th with Gladiators’ Night: the official presentation of the fall varsity teams, featuring special guests, a cheerleading exhibition, and of course, Maximus the Mascot.
  • Team Retreat in Sapri → The varsity squads will head to Sapri October 3rd-5th for a weekend of intensive training and team bonding, building the Gladiators spirit stronger than ever.
  • Championship Season → Mid-October marks the start of the Universities of Rome Championship. Get ready to support your Gladiators on the field, court, and pitch!
  • International Competition → November 12th-15th, we’ll travel to Barcelona for the WIUC Tournament, where our tennis, padel, men’s soccer, women’s 5v5 soccer, and cheerleading teams will represent JCU on an international stage.
